Hello everybody, here's my latest acquisition. It just arrived today, and I took some pictures right after unpacking. It is a Hasag model no. 102 SP (SP stands for "Spiritus", meaning alcohol), and is rated 300 CP. It fits a glass cylinder from a Ditmar 501. The design is quite similar to the American model "Nulite Stormking", but has some typical Hasag features. So I believe that it was made by Hasag and not just re-labelled.
    Enjoy!

In a few days I hopefully will be able to report some good news from fettling it, i've found no stress cracks so far.
Unfortunately there are no date marks on the lantern, but from some catalogues with similar models I assume that it is from the mid 1930's.

@Martin K. Nice find! I have only one Hasag lantern and I'm having a problem identifying it. Great looking lantern and perhaps the 1930's is correct.

Look darn close to a Summit Made in Holland.
Well not made here at all, but sold.
I think it is not made by Hugo Schneider as a Hasag lantern, maybe manufactured in license.

I second that. It also bears a striking resemble to the Wunderlampe/Nulite product pictured HERE.
    Nice lantern!

    Hi all,
finally there was success in cleaning/fettling.
The mixing chamber and the J-tube were completely filled with a kind of undefined greenish-brownish gunk, which I had to burn out. I washed the tank thoroughly, and it has no rust spots inside. The jet and needle had been changed from a previous owner to a Ditmar ensemble, but I was able to find an original Hasag jet in my spares box and used a needle from a Swiss Hasag.
However, there was also one setback: the steel valve stem was completely blocked. I tried several times and with different methods: with ultrasonic bath and citric acid, WD40 and heat, but finally the stem broke off though and I had to drill out the stuck piece. Unfortunately the stem tip came loose and I could not get it out of the valve block. So the brass replica I made will not shut off the fuel.
Nevertheless the lantern can be used and will be extinguished by releasing the pressure, which is in my eyes acceptable with alcohol as fuel.

Its still looking good, Martin. Shame that the shut off valve tip couldn't be removed from the block at this point. Otherwise, a new valve stem could be fabricated and used.
Alcohol could still be a little bit risky by pressure release extinguishing but not as dangerous as petrol.

    @Martin K.

    Martin,

Have you ever seen a Hasag 100 marked or badged as Hasag? I looked through this Hasag gallery and couldn't see one.

I think that it is all a matter of rights.
If you own the model rights, you may produce it and put your brand name and logo on something.
If you produce a model of somebody else like Nulite you may (?) put a sticker witch "your" model name on it but not your logo (HS) or engrave this on the lamp.
Like wise Leipziger Werke could put HASAG (engraved) on a lamp but not Hugo Schneider (HS).

Yes, of course you are right there. Just whom had the rights is in question.

Why I asked if a Hasag 100 has ever been found badged as a Hasag is not because I don't believe Hasag manufactured Model 100, I do believe they manufactured them.

I would just like to see if one has ever been found with the Hasag name on it. My question has nothing to do with Nulite.
