    Hi all,

Really funny: Im a german Barbecue forum there is a thread with lamps. And somebody showed a lamp which he doesn' t knew anything about. I remembered that I have read Something about this and gave him some info. The cool thing is that he didn't like it and gave it to me for a really reasonable price.

    This is the arriving condition:

And a few hours and a little fettle later:

I will write some more these days. But's late....... Much fettling this evening/night.

    Regards

    Roman

    Really nice and really light!

What would be interesting is the manufacturer behind.

I know that these lanterns has been sold by Franz Zimmermann, Mainz, Germany. But I think he didn't manufacture anything.

There are two marks at the lantern. The normal "Wunder":

And the two patends at the umbrella of the generator. Sorry no pic but the letters show one patend from 1922 and one from 1924. I think these are the ones from Nulite.
Any guess if the generator should be made by Nulite?

    Best regards.

I also like this very much:

Original pump in fully working condition and a perfect fitting pump holder with integrated holder for a box of matches.

The original maker of this lamp was Nulite (National Stamping & Electric in Chicago USA). BUT Hasag made a near identical lantern and we are still not sure who made the examples sold by Zimmermann in Germany and Besnard in France. Nulite were exported all over the world but mostly to retailers. Hasag were a large manufacturer so could have copied then under license or imported them. There are minor subtle differences in the burner castings which does suggest Hasag manufacture for the continental European brands but in truth we are still not sure. ::Neil::

Thank you Neil. Yes this is a good summary of what I read concerning these lanterns.

And yes, a really nice piece of history. Normally this would be too expensive for me. But this was just luck.

By the way.... It bursts my BIG collection:

    And now completely reassembled:

Just cleaned and preserved. OK I had to make a new filler cap seal from Viton.
