The harder it is to find, the more interesting it is...

What are the shutter locating pins or 'microstuds' made out of?
If they're made from some aluminium alloys, then it'd even negate possibilities of easily soldering them in place.
Tilley, especially on regard to their later products, has also been unofficially known to deliberately make things 'disposable' or 'non-serviceable' by design.. ,..i.e., the vaporizer.

Getting the shutter to work is certainly a breakthrough by itself for enthusiasts.

 

I definitely agree. I am always on the hunt for more information about the Swedish and Australian brands.

 

The one on the spray block is part of the alloy diecasting.




The other pivot’s brass, press-fitted into a hole in stainless steel originally, but now silbrazed in place.

 

Thankfully that's still a 'fixable' problem.
Too bad for me that I don't own a Tillite. Otherwise, I would certainly attempt to 'make' it usable or reliable...while holding firm on to the motto: 'whatever it takes' .
Preferably, without altering the basic appearance and design of the elusive patent. Or should I say...just some refinements there..
