    @Blackdog , yes, likewise, it's always nice to put faces to names, even if I don't remember all of them:lol:

    Isn't that just the problem though time, so many faces many of which are only seen once a year!

    Hello Folks

    A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended and made me feel so welcome at this year’s CCS/CPL meet. I had a wonderful time chatting to everyone and looking at the wonderful displays which put my hastily grabbed items to shame. The weather was kind and apart from on cold evening, really warm. There were several regulars missing this year and I hope they will be able to make next year’s event, however it was good to see new visitors and displays which bodes well for the future. A special thanks to John @presscall for his contribution of friendship, good company and interesting knowledge, and to Chris @Blackdog for allowing me to play with his wonderful Blacks Icelandic patrol tent. This brought back many happy memories of my childhood and beyond, camping experiences in Norfolk with St John Ambulance. I think a massive amount of thanks and gratitude are owed to Ross @spiritburner for his continued dedication hosting these two very special forums and for organising such a wonderful eclectic annual event. Looking forward to seeing everyone again in 2027.

    Regards Jeremy (x246a) (as posted on CCS)

    Addendum: I only managed to bring two pressure lanterns this year: a Tilley X246A purchased new in 1991 and my first ever lamp, and a Veritas Superb. The Superb is a little fussy about the pressure dropping too low and apart from a nrv seal replacement it ran perfectly, outshining the Tilley. It hope to bring a better selection of lanterns in 2027. J

    @X246A
    Well said Jeremy and thanks for your kind comments about me, which go for you too.
    Not so, the items you brought were exemplary with the theme of aluminium camping pots facinating to delve into.

    John
