Here we have one 220B, manufactured back in 1934, it looks alot like the first type 220B but differs in many details, most noticeable is maybe that the fuel lid now have the modern look, other differences are that the keyhole lock for the bail now is gone, and a cotterpin is used to hold the bail to the frame instead. The bail, glasstand and the collar however, is still tin dipped, and it contributes to that vintage look. Frederik
Hej Frederik That was a nice looking lamp. Is the glass with that nice logo typical for all lamps during that period? best regards Joakim
Hi Joakim, I do not know exactly when the more common glass globe ( with green lettering ) came in use, but this sandblasted design came first, before this type there were only mica globes on these lanterns. The globe is an reproduction, purcased from Fred kuntz and yes they are good looking.
Go out on ebay, they show up quite often, take your time and search for a nice looking one, it will come to you. Frederik
Well' thank you Agostino, however i purchased this one in this very nice condition, just added the Fred Kuntz repro globe, i was searching this design of the 220B because i was sure that it would look good next to my 220B type 1 ( A ) that uses a mica globe, trying to make a timeline line up in my garage. The credit should go out to the collector who refurbished and cared for the lantern before me. Frederik
