I have been very fortunate to get hold of a Veritas Superb with the ordinal glass globe. I believe it is difficult to get hold of new globes and would like to know if there is an alternative "straight" glass globe I can use when working the lamp and keep the original to use when it's on display at home?
Hi, Don’t know if the height and the diameter of the globe is the same as the Veritas P 350 ( ex dutch army ) I own. It is fitted with a 12 x 12 straight globe from an old Mewa lantern. It fits perfect. Advantage too : there ‘s a ( standard ) hole in the glass in the neighberhood of the cup, so lighting this cup for preheating the lantern with a long match is now a piece of cake. Regards from the Netherlands, Tjerk Polee
www.hytta.de have a range of all sorts of sizes. I have bought replacement glass for all the Swedish makes from them. Well packed and good price. I will admit the website is a bit confusing, but I am sure you will find what you need in the end.
@Scouter Bill I also have a Veritas Superb unfortunately it was missing the original glass globe but I found that the glass from a Coleman 335 works quite well. Cheers, Norman
