Good evening all I found this Coleman 247 at a local recycling depot. Someone had taken it apart and it is missing the the bail handle, filler cap, pump hold down screw and the burner frame nut. The font holds pressure with my thumb over the hole so I'm going hunt up the parts on fleabay and see if I can get it up and running again.
You might be better going to OCP. OldColemanParts.com They should have all the parts you need and they do understand the lamps pretty well so if you tell them what lamp you are restoring they will understand. I use them for all Coleman parts I need and the service has always been first class. ::Neil::
Finally finished, got a little too aggressive/ nickel plate was thin on the center band so its polished brass now.
Lovely job, a good find and even better fettle. Totally agree with the above comments, she is looking very good and seems to be running well.
Thank you all for the compliments, I have no plans on re-plating the collar it gives the lantern a little character. I still have to make a preheat cup and replace the pump leather but it was a fun fettle. Anyone who has a sonic cleaner should pick up a jug of Hornady one shot sonic case cleaner, it works amazing on brass lantern parts. The pictures are out of sequence but you get the gist of it.
