My good buddy @Norman sent me a couple of these from the States and they are invaluable for filling lanterns! Not sure if they're available in the UK. They're made for fuelling remote control models I think.

    Thanks Norm!

I don't know why it took me so long to get around to using them but I use them all the time now!

We learn a lot of suggestions via this forum. It is true that we get set in our ways and it is difficult for old dogs to learn new tricks so often, we either sub conscientiously or deliberately resist new ideas.

They are readily available in the UK for a few quid online via radio control model shops. I assumed everyone was using them!

What a top idea. The things you learn on this forum, wouldn’t have it any other way.
    Thank you for sharing @ColinG

You unscrew the top and pour fuel into it using a funnel. My fuel is kept in a 20 litre drum but it's virtually impossible to decant it into a lantern without it going everywhere! I keep this fuel bottle filled and ready - makes things so much easier.

    Colin,

Has your 20 litre container a bung that you could tap? If not, keep your eyes peeled for an empty drum that is tapped. Perhaps ask the operator of your local fish and chip store if he gets his oil in drums that have the bung and a tap can be screwed into it.

It would make transferring from the 20 litre container to filling cans a lot easier.
