Tilley or not

    Hi fellas, i came across this tilley pump.
    Is it a ill make it work or an original item.
    I've not seen one.

    Someone is likely to tell what stove it used to be on.

    It work well, i thought maybe an iron but they are short

    Looks like the original end of the pump has been lost along the way and someone has improvised one to keep the pump working. I've seen quite a few repairs on tilleys in the style of a bush mechanic, eg use whats around at the time and fettle it so it works

    I would bet on that bakelite knob being from an old valve radio.

    Yes, I agree, it certainly looks like a knob from an old valve radio.

    I used to collect old radios as a lad and I'm pretty sure that's a bakelite knob from an old valve set.

    Yep, a bushie’s fix to get her going.
    In the old days, I recollect as the good old days, Aussies out in the bush were masters of repurposing, they had to be.
