What a day we had amazing finds today, X246,X246A and 4 Kayen, half with Tilley parts, so I made up 2 complete Kayens, and changed the hood on 1 of my EX100 which I had a Kayen hood on, so now it's complete, also a XN control cock valve so excited.
16 lamps in total $32 AUD each, can't go wrong.

Well done. Nice to be able to complete some lamps properly in this way.

Yes it's funny how things work out, sometimes things just go to plan, and other times they don't.

It must be a full time job you are doing there to keep finding all these lamps... Do you house and barn clearances for a living? Farms perhaps?

I wish I could, but because of health reasons I only work 15 a week at the Salvation Army, so I have plenty of time on my hands.

We still have less than 100, so we need to crack that mark, so that we are not still beginners ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

Not to worry I have 1 garage I think that's how you spell it, and 2 sheds, with the plan of building 1 more for Michael, so that won't be a problem, he needs his own space.

Yes there are a lot more in Australia, as I live near Melbourne and only travel around 200km, so there's so much more untapped territory, I might even have to travel into NSW yet.

I guess it's 'cos Oz is so much bigger and there are plenty of places that didn't get all the modern services till relatively late on. Must be loads of farms in the bush with Tilleys and other kero lanterns that were used on a regular basis. A bit like Scotland but way bigger and way hotter!!!

You are correct we are a large country, and I'm sure there are plenty on untapped farms.

Good grief! Well, you’re certainly making sure of keeping busy, a great haul!
You mentioned about how things find you, work out, with the lamps. I’m certainly with you on that, there have been a number of occasions when I’ve had this happen. Maybe it’s a lampie thing? Long may it continue!

I quite agree Stevie and as the old saying goes “what’s for ye winna go by ye”. That was one of my Mam’s sayings but it used to annoy me if I had lost out at auction or something like that and was still in a bad mood about it.

I would love to get 2 different lamps for my collection, but they are very hard to find and expensive, they are a PL53 and a wall lamp, then I would be over joyed with happiness, but I know it not upper to me it's the lamps choice
