Bialaddin Bowl Fire. NRV

Hi fellas, im fettling a bialaddin bowl fire heater.
Ive noticed the NRV has a plastic body.
Is this how they come?

 

Interesting... I’ve only fettled one and it had brass for that part.

Hello Darryl, that is new to me and I have fettled many Vapalux/Bialaddin products including several bowl fires.

 

Is it original? Maybe it was a home repair?

 

I've never seen anything like that before. Probably a bodge job an 'in-service modification'...

 

@Darryl Durdin ...Have you tried drying it completely (inside and out) and having a closer look?

Homemade lathe-turned nylon will look more, erm..well. 'homemade'?

I've never thought of using nylon for bits?..Should work well enough?..Unless it's a Tillite pre-heater?
