I latched onto this fairly nice Canadian Coleman 327 "Signal" at a picker friends with a couple other project lanterns. Saw this one right away and was hoping it was a "K" but absolutely no complaints that it wasn't. Dated 10 36 so November 1936. Not a beauty shelf Queen but nice and solid. A light clean up with a tweak here and there and cap gasket and away it went. Mica could use a panel or two and on a slow rainy day I might get to that. Other than that it burns nice. Alex
Nice one! The LQ on the left looks like it'll clean up nicely too. Lots of TLC for sure, but for 100 years old, it looks pretty spry! Mike.
It was built to last! The glass which is in the lantern on the left appears to be for some type of wick hurricane lantern.
Jeff...Yeah I noticed that wickie glass. They also tied on a couple of mantles a long time ago. Doesn't look like they tried to burn it though. I'll try to do better when I do a restore on that one. lol Alex
lol. George....oh yeah thanks for setting me straight on that. Late night and early morning at least that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it! Alex
@MrAlexxx Very nice L327. These lanterns are solid reliable performers and grace anyone’s collection. Thank you for sharing. Cheers Pete
