I have been a member for almost 1 year, mostly reading and gaining some mutch meeded information.
I should first thank all the members for sharing thier knoweldge. I have just aquired this chandelier,I bought it from the son of an elderly lady who is selling her home to move into a retirement home. It was stored in her basement for some time. It apears to have seen little use.
I would like to get it up & running. I would like to know what mantels to use? plus what timeline these were made, I think 1916-28 ?? thanks for your help.

the first 108 PQ lamps went out in January 1916 and the last 13 in October 1931. In total between those dates there were 44,255 PQ lamps shipped out of Wichita and Toronto. Mostly Wichita.

The shipping records for 1916 to 1919 are a bit confusing because in those years sometimes the shipping record lists both model P and PQ together. ::Neil::

    Hi Neil

Thanks for the info on the years. The 3 mantels remaining on the chandelier are about 4 inches lon, Could these be original? I would like to keep them but would like to know what size to replace them with. I would like to try to fire it up. Thanks Jim

I did get it lighting, As you can see from the picture it did drip some fuel but that is from my lack of experience in lighting one of these. The left side does not burn as bright as the right. as soon as I can get some spare time I will look into that, now to get the shades 1330971566-pq_lighting_opt.jpg
