Something that started months ago and still isn’t anywhere finished due to a dent found later on which I’m trying to fill with solder... and also had a argoshield bottle fall on the cage since this was taken so it’s well and truly on the back-burner... it did look good for a while though? ...
Certainly. Even with the set-backs you have your eye on what you want to achieve and the skills to accomplish it, so ‘work in progress’ it is.
I have a few 'works in progress' and I somehow doubt they are going to turn out half as good as yours - before your set back. Keep at it, I'd like to see the end result.
Not much has turned up lately, the link below shows a project which is on hold for now. The fuel pipe which is covered by the handle is okay, but the narrow fuel feed pipe which is soldered to the bottom end of the other pipe and which is meant to convey the fuel and air mixture from the tank is damaged. The only way that I can think of to fix the problem is to unsolder the lot from the tank and do the required repair and then solder it all back together. Having said that, I have thought of another idea, which involves drilling out the solder which holds the narrow fuel feed pipe to the broader fuel pipe. The narrow pipe would fall into the tank and hopefully I would be able to remove it, I would then fit an extension pipe to a Vapalux pricker control, that pipe would be long enough to reach the bottom of the tank, the bottom end would be cut at an angle and hopefully the fuel and air mixture would flow properly. Wow! That's a fettle and a half? Do you need a long drill bit at all?... I have some super-long ones...like over 200mm? Actually they mite be too large? ..3mm?
