Went to see a guy today who might be able to help with my quest looking parts to finish a pair of Bialaddin's. Didn't get the parts I needed but did have some nice Tilley's hanging about the walls, so long story short, I ended up with a Tilley radiator R1 and yes I know it is not the way it is meant to be but personally I love it in this guise and not so sure if the other lamp is a PL52 or 53, had a look in the reference library and I think it mentioned if it was a raised control cock, maybe a 52. So tempted to get stuck into these especially the R1 but I have other priorities finishing the Bialaddin 305's, which some parts are eluding me at the minute but still making progress
Good finds! That PL., should restore well and it has it's original XN., control cock and all of the rest of it is also original, but you need to make a top for the hood and you need a 182 globe, which is fitted to that gallery which is on the R-1. Happy fettling!
That R1 can be correct with a chrome reflector, as seen in the photo below talking about the same gallery head on it. Read this. and don't worry about the top of the photo, its a different lamp.
@Buggerlugs very interesting reading there, could be a possibility. I had already thought of adding a copper bowl just to add reflection in this configuration. Thank you for the info.
