Hi! I just recently found this lamp in my grandparents garage. I know nothing about pressurelamps and want to know more about it. Is it in good condition compared to others? Is it worth anything and so on?
Hi Philip. Welcome to the board. Well as it says on the fount it is a Radius 119. It is in a good used condition. And complete with some accessories. You may wish to keep it and make it work ? Getting them working is very satisfying. As to value, it is worth something, but not a fortune. You can get parts (new seals, jets, needles etc) from fogas.se as well as mantles. There are other Swedish members here who can point you in the right direction for a value. See the reference library 119 for other examples. Chris
Just to add to what Chris has already stated. This model was made for the Swedish civil defence and it most likely dates from the first half of the 1950s. From what I have been told, the flat top was originally designed so you could melt snow for drinking water. New seals and check of the jet and cleaning needle and it should be good to go.
Hi/Hej! Regarding value, the board does not discuss that but if You search for the Radius 119 at the Tradera site it will show a direction when it comes to value. The Cook top and the shade will render You some money. Many search for that. Personally I hope You keep it, and that you use it, to remember Youre loved ones by. Regards Matti
Hi and welcome to the forum from the Scottish Highlands. That’s a very nice lamp, I hope you take the time to get it running. As mentioned above, this can be a very satisfying pastime! Stevie
Your Primus 119 lantern looks to be in very good shape. Getting your lantern going should be relatively easy and parts if needed are readily available. As for what it's worth this site does not give valuations. You should keep this lantern as it is part of your family history. If you choose to sell you lantern you can list on this site. Cheers
It looks a real " bobby-dazzler " to me ... I would keep it , polish and service it .. get it working and light it now and again ....
