Hi, New to this site Just purchased two Optimus 930's in boxes, after a good clean attempted to light one of them, the problem is not able to build any pressure in the tank, this is the same problem on both lamps. Any suggestions possible solutions as to the problem Thank
It looks daunting to start with but they are quite simple in practice. No pressure mean either no pumping or no seal. Take off the fuel cap and put your thumb over it, and then pump. If you can feel pressure, you can be sure your seal is knackered. If not , then you need to sort the pump out. In any case change over all your seals and soak your pump leather in oil. While you are doing that take it all apart and give it a nice polish. Finally a dunk test, and then you are away.
Were they new out of the boxes? Even if they are NOS the seals are probably shot to heck. They tend to deteriorate just setting around...
Hi Peter and welcome to the forum. Follow the above advice, basic servicing. Time alone will perish the various seals, all should be replaced, straight forward to do. Do post some photos of your lamps! Enjoy the ride! Stevie

Welcome from Queensland Australia. There is a wealth of information and useful help on this forum. Others, more knowledgeable on this type of lantern will assist you better than I. I’m looking forward to the pictures of your lanterns running. Enjoy Cheers Pete
