Nothing special, just a good old workhorse made from parts I still had lying around. The tank was the one I used to show how I spray with rattle cans, the hood/burner were NOS but weren't recognised as such by the eBay seller. The frame came from a job lot and I can't remember where I got the bail from but it needs some rust treatment for sure! The pump and control cock came from a job lot of Tilley stuff I bought a couple of years back and the vaporiser is a NOS one from a good friend in South America although I can't remember exactly where right now but the guy runs a Primus stove themed cafe! Please excuse the green tank but the test spraying went pretty well so Ieft it. Did Tilley ever use Forest Green?
Hey @ColinG Perhaps Tilley didn’t paint their founts forest green, however, after seeing yours, they should have. Well done mate. Pete
Aha! Yes, very likely. It'll get dunked in my de-rusting solution for a few days - that'll do the trick.
I'm using phosphoric acid for rust, works pretty fast. Citric acid is safer and slower. Nice lantern btw!
