Moin, After finding it at the junkyard, I made my Vapalux from 1943 beautiful again without destroying the patina. The lamp also runs very pleasantly and reliably. But I would like to know what the type designation is and whether there was also a civilian version of the lamp. With best regards, Torsten
@Dieselross @R100 is correct, you have a Vapalux 300. It is thought that this model was available to the general public as well as to the military. In around 1944, this model was available in brown which was aimed at the civilian market.
Whatever it is called - it is a piece of working history - well saved ! (and I agree it is a 300) Chris
@Dieselross Boy, what a great find! I just finished restoring a 1943, 300! It doesn't have the pressure tit so it's looking great for a 1943, model. I would think they are not rare but really hard to find! All things considered, I would leave it like it is. Dust it off and there you are! BTW that's my birth year, 1943 , so I have a soft spot for these. I would like to go with you the next time you go to a junk yard!! WHAT A GREAT FIND!!
Moin, @WimVe I think i have @george I go to the junkyard every Saturday. For years. The only thing I never saw there was a high-intensity lamp. t Then within two weeks there were two pieces in quick succession, a newer year of construction and then the 300 shown. I only discovered the year of construction while cleaning. My absolute top find was at the end of last year. In an old tool box from a broken up pensioner's household, wrapped in old cloths and rolled up in a newspaper from December 1942. A Russian sniper scope from 1942. That was really an absolute highlight. And also brought a correspondingly large contribution to the hobby fund ....
