peerless mantles!

    Bruce,

    That is a tad more successful light up than your propane one you showed me yesterday.

    Bruce, did you add pressure to the lamp anytime after you lit it? More importantly, during the time the mantles went from an orange glow to bright white.

    no-- I did not add more pressure it was 9 pumps with the big pump + 1 pint of fuel for test burn~~also- when I shut it down and picked up the lantern the font had not absorbed any more heat-- it was cool-- so there wasn't a pressure change due to heat expansion

    That is good news that they brighten to white with use! I have heard so many bad things about the new Peerless I've hesitated to buy them. Now I might give some a spin.

    I have had good luck with Peerless mantles. There's some online talk of a batch that were prone to holes and the ends came loose at the seam but Peerless QC seems to have fixed that. I've had no problems with mine.
