Thank you. Ann at TW Sands in Melbourne identified it at about the same time. It says Solar on the pressure gauge too but no other markings.

I've got two of them and they're well made as others have said. The brass construction means you don't have to worry about rust like you would with an Anchor or most other Petromax clones.

I can't tell which model it is from the photos, but the 500cp version uses a 12cm x 12cm diameter globe whereas the 350cp version uses a standard Petromax size. The 12x12 globes are getting hard to come by now. A Radius 119 globe will fit as will a Veritas 350 globe. There are also some Camping Gaz lantern globes models that also fit but they are nearly always frosted to an extent but they would do at a pinch.

My guess is that it may not be a Solar. I have never seen a Solar with a green enamel top and all the ones I have seen have had markings/stamping underneath/on
the base on the fount. I may be wrong but you may have another make with A Solar pressure gauge/cap.

    Cheers Peter

Maybe, but the Union Metal Works company in Hong Kong who made Solar also made 'off Brand' versions with very few indications of who actually manufactured them. @Norman has what looks very much like an unbranded Solar with a chrome/nickel plated hood. The screws on the green enamel cap also seem to have the same spacing if that's anything to go by.

Whatever it is it's a nice fettling project.

Could you measure the diameter of the depression the globe fits into?
