New Tilley X246

    Picked up a new X246 this week. In reasonable condition but no markings to be found anywhere.

    Anyone able to provide any clues re age etc?

    Going by the cage it would be second half of 1950s ,other members might be able to narrow it down further.

    No stamping or markings on the tank. Only the decal on the bottom.

    If there’s no stamping on the tank, and that is the original cage for the globe, it must the late 1954, I think.

    The tank is the 1949-1954 X246 tank; there’s a transfer on the base; the cage is the 1954+ cage.
