Bialaddin Bowlfires were intended to have easily removable guards in order to allow easy access to the burner and priming bowl. Alas, they were too mobile and many guards were lost from these otherwise excellent heaters.

I have been on the hunt for replacement guards for some time, but they are elusive and if you do find one they can be well corroded or faulty.

I did buy one hand-made replacement, lovingly made from stainless steel but it was relatively expensive, compared to the price of the heater.

However I have now produced the new, improved "Kerophile Bowlfire Guard":

Depending on the model, some Bowlfires have a bottom clip incorporated in the maker's label at the bottom of the bowl.

I fashioned a hinge clip for my Bowlfire and fitted it under the maker's label.

    Best Regards,
    Kerophile.

But not, I'm certain, compared to the price of materials and the development and labour costs involved in a low production run. Mine was £25 which I considered to be an absolute bargain!

I'm guessing that's stainless steel wire, George, and I've no idea of the price of that but you've got 21/22 slats which must be getting on for 20" each. That's around 9 metres altogether so I bet that wasn't cheap.

What's the idea behind the flattened section in the centre..?

Hi, The flat section on the front is a style feature as I didn't want the Bowlfire guard to look too much like my Kendo armour:

Being the killjoy I would say without this flattened area this former fruit basket won't stand plane on the table.

    Hi,
I currently have available a few new "Kerophile Bowlfire Guards". These are made from chromium-plated steel.
