Another new purchase

    I also picked this one up the other day, I assume it’s a PL53

    Your PL53 from 1938/ '39 to 1945 / '46 looks to be working well.
    It depends how you like your lamps but I think the battle scars below the pump give it character. Nice find.

    That’s nice original looking PL53. My favourite Tilley lantern. I agree with Henry, I like to see the evidence of life on a lamp. Good find!

    It certainly was a nice find, I got quite a few in the same deal, table lamp, wall lamp, 2 heaters, a guardsman, 2 246A and a 246B

    Nice working lantern!

    I've got two myself with another on the way (sounds like I'm pregnant!) and they work very well. I have to be honest though, they still make me chuckle a bit. If you've ever seen any W Heath Robinson illustrations, the PL53 et al always remind me of his drawings.
