eBay, managed payment system

    A while ago eBay asked me to join their managed payment system, this they said would avoid having to pay PayPal fees as a seller. What it didn’t make clear is that eBay themselves would instead charge 2.8% plus £0.30p in fees.
    In addition to this, they’ll hang on to your money for five days before paying to your bank. PayPal made funds instantly available.

    By their own admission today, they did agree that the new system was unclear and also that PayPal would soon be unavailable for sellers.

    I won’t be using eBay as a selling platform in the future....

    Hi Stevie
    Sphock have started doing the same thing,
    they hold the money until the item has been delivered and the buyer acknowledges that they are happy with it.
    Given the current climate proof of delivery is something that is becoming more difficult to obtain.
    You still can’t beat cash in the hand.

    It’s interesting you say that. I purchased something last week that was collection only. Upon winning the auction I was unable to message or respond to the seller without paying via pay pal first.

    The seller could have sent his number though...not the buyer
