Hi all, Here’s another Akron lamp, a ca 1920 Akron 102G table lamp. The fount is kind of odd and rare, medium high, and was manufactured during a short period around 1919 and 1920. You can find a torch lit Akron 92 in the reference gallery (Neil), converted to a match lighting generator with that same fount. The conversion match lighting generator patent was filed in 1919 and soon after Akron filed a patent for a match lighting generator in 1921, that in the end turned out to be the Akron S-generator. With this fount and the S generator I beleive this lamp was made around 1921-1922. This is one of the most nice looking table lamps in the CQ category, next to the Nulite 110M lamp. I also have a later 1920,s 102G Akron lamp, that only has a different fount. I’m very happy with this nice pair of lamps! /Conny
Hi, I have this same lamp and need some help. I have removed this and this. And I need to remove this but it doesn't budge. Do you know how to remove it?
Just the seal stuck to the inlet. What you have left is the seal cup which is just a plug and sealing rubber, that part is not screwed in. Shove the needle valve back in, warm the cap and unscrew the complete unit. ::Neil::
I had some success with this method but ran out of thread before it came all of the way out. I then added a washer between the needle valve and the cap and got it a little farther out but it is still stuck. Heating it also did not work. I think I have to get some sort of small gear puller. I have tried prying it out with a screw driver but this just started buggering up the metal.
