Tilley Guardsman

Looking over this lamp today, I’m guessing it’s dated May 57, but what does the 0 stand for ?

No-one is sure what the “O”, or other letters that used, stands for.

May 1957 is correct.

Looks like your tank/fount is the last of the good ones, before the base plate was inverted

@podbros I am having a little giggle here about your base plate comment: Buy a x246b everyone says the x246a was much better. Buy a x246a and everyone says ooh the guardsman was better. Buy a guardsman and you better get the base plate the right way round... I think it is a conspiracy just not sure what sort yet...
