20210307_134821.jpg found this at a car boot sale last year, after closer inspection I found some differences from the Chinese petromax that I own, firstly the plastic parts are a light blue as compared to dark blue on the Chinese one. Next the logo has only ten points to the star instead of eleven. It does have Germany reg on it so I know it's not made in Germany. On the underneath it has a number stamped 1077 in the same style as both of my hipolitos 20210307_134913.jpg could this be a date code. 20210307_134710.jpg 20210307_134710.jpg logo showing only ten points on star 20210307_134849.jpg 20210307_140531.jpg burning brightly, older style anchor mantle fitted, when I bought it I put fuel in it, fitted a mantle and fired it up, worked perfectly and I only paid twenty pounds for it.
So what country portugal or china.
    Regards Ian

Thanks alby, looks like it's made in the hipolito factory then, just need to decipher the date code on the bottom if that's what it is

My two cents worth: four digit date, possibly Portugal, then Germany. The ones from China usually carry a longer serial number.

My thought was possibly Oct 1977 as number is 1077. What three me was both of my hipolito,s have 1058 on the base but they are definitely not 1958.

I've just checked out the link Matthias posted and I agree week 10 1977, which makes both of my hipolito,s marked 1058 as being week 10 1985. Thanks all for the input.
    Regards Ian.
