Well, I’ve finally fired up my Baby Petromax (likely dated very early thirties) and it hasn’t failed to impress! Fired up easily and burns much louder than I expected. Here it is with a 2C-HG peerless mantle and a modern globe (I usually burn my lanterns with the correct globe but in this case I decided to keep the original safely on the shelf).
Well done. It looks like it is working well. I would never have thought to use a 2C-HG mantle on this size lamp, but it seems to be a good choice.
