I recently purchased the Coleman 249 lantern and have taken various pictures of the differences between the England and Canada models.
Can I post it in the reference gallery showing the differences in the same thread. I know it’s preferred to have each on its own but it will be easier to compare the differences on the same picture. The made in England is on the right.
They are both made in May 1957.

I would suggest that you make two separate threads; one of each, but that you in the end of each post also show the picture with both together and the same explaining text regarding the differences.

    Andrew,

I'd be interested in you having a close look at the nickelled parts of the Made In England lamp - fount, collar, fuel cap and pump handle and cap, air tubes and anything else that is nickelled - to see if you can see any noticeable difference in the quality of the nickel plating. Not from lamp to lamp but from part to part on the Made In England one.

A very nice pair of 249's. My Canadian 249 painted Seafoam green is a 3/45 and one of my favourite lanterns.

At a campsite puts out an amazing amount of light for such a small lantern.

Always keep an eye out for another 249.
