Fiona you made me feel exhausted just reading your list of things to do. Hope you manage to find time for your lamps. P.S. I love hot cross buns!
Yes Joan,I am a bit exhausted at the moment. Hoping I feel a bit better.. Trying to keep strong and take it gently..busy time..spring time. Hugs, Fiona My hot cross buns are delicious..hoping we can meet up soon and have some. Happy Easter everyone. Must get up and mind my puppy, cats and flock, aga, seedlings and sourdough etc.. Love Fiona
Stevie, I hope you’ve made a better job of that than you did with your attempt at writing a few Scottish words to me. It will take me some time to get over that.
@Jean J Haha! Sorry Jean! Have you ever watched the film Wee Geordie? Or any other old British film meant to be set in the Highlands, it’s how they speak....
As gaoilge Stevie..Beannachtaí na Cásca oraibh. (Irish) Nature is slow..I have lots of time to do all..my mantra! I ate the hot cross bun dough,Jean before shaping or crossing it and finishing with simple syrup. Baked it in my dutch oven in my aga in one big piece. Busy time of year before the goats, donkeys and pigs etc come.. Hugs, Fiona My fridge and two nieces Ellie and Anna
I’ll be 80 later this year (I know, it’s hard to believe) and in all these years I have never said, or had said to me “Happy Easter.” How and when did this come about? I mean Happy Birthday, Happy New Year are good wishes I’ve passed on for most of my life but never Happy Easter. A few weeks ago it was National Plumbers’ Day, did any of you wish anyone “Happy Plumbers’ Day”? Am I getting old do you think or it may be I’ve had one glass too many along with my Easter fish and chips.
Well, I'm a mere young whippersnapper of 71 coming up, Jean, and I've been wished, and been wishing, Happy Easter for as long as I can remember - since 1952 maybe...
When we were young Easter meant usually having a picnic and decorating and rolling our Easter eggs. Except when there was snow on the ground as there is here today. No chocolate eggs for us then of course our treat would have been a couple of squares of Dairy milk chocolate.
I remember my 3 maiden aunties buying me and my sister large impressive looking Easter eggs wrapped in coloured foil but they tasted horrible! I think they got them cheap somewhere but me and my sister never liked them much! I remember it like it was yesterday!
