Hi, looking for advice regarding the ceramic tube on the R1A I have acquired. The tube has a crack down it’s entire length but seems quite stable so I was wondering if the crack would affect the tube’s performance or will it be ok to use. Yes I would agree with Ray - it is not there for show. On the same website you might like to look at the replacement guards too.
And it is a very nice looking heater !

@rayw Thanks Ray, I did think that would be the answer. And the full spares set is definitely decent value and a good shout. It came with an original asbestos mantle but I was thinking of buying a replacement.

@Fireexit1 thanks, I don’t think the heater has seen a great deal of use tbh. The reflector has some dings in the centre from being bolted into a storage box I think but apart from that is in great condition but sadly there wasn’t a guard with it so a replacement is definitely on the shopping list
