Picked this chap up earlier, and looking forward to the fettle! New Glass needed, as the one in is ready to break apart. The Control Cock is all resealed and vapouriser OK (Pricker working fine). All I need is a Tank Washer and pump seals, so watch this space.
I think this one looks fine as it is and will be used!

Looks like an X246b aluminum pump but that's easily swapped out if you feel like it but apart from that it's a fine getting project.

New Glass and a pump courtesy of Jean J. A bit of a clean but not too much.

Such a nice lantern, great to see going again.

By the way, if no bits are missing from the glass, others have repaired them by running superglue into the cracks.

@Kiwi I got hold of a used glass that was intact, because the one in is just holding and the pieces move around slightly. I have kept it though and might do that for a spare.
I didn't think superglue liked the heat ?

I've no idea about superglue but glass glue e.g. Glassbond definitely doesn't withstand high temperatures...

Well theres a new one on anyway, as that old cracked glass was not fit for purpose. I have a couple of other lamps with slight cracking, but that one is unsafe in my opinion, hence the replacement (plus it looks better).

Nice lamp looks the part now, I have some cracked globes as well, I leave them on my spare Tilley lamps that hang outside and still look the part though.
Here is a photo they all have cracked globes.
20210425_130718.jpg Just like shelf queens, but not good enough for inside.

Nice line up! I have got my eye on a 246A at the moment.
