I saw this in a Lidl and wondered if the Chemists among us could help regarding possible use in a Coleman type lantern ? I’m not sure as it contains Acetone? Thanks in advance!
I am no super-chemist having stopped at O level but I would say definitley not. Coleman fuel etc is "light hydrotreated naptha" more or less. What you have seems to be mostly Acetone, which is a very different beast.
No, you don't want to be burning that. Xylene is particularly nasty, Acetone isn't nice either. Plus, it'll probably do a wonderful job of removing the paint on the lantern tank... Xylene - Xylene: An overview of its health hazards and preventive measures (nih.gov)
Thanks @Fireexit1 and @David Shouksmith yes I thought as much but always good to get confirmation! Funny that about Xylene as is was the thinners we mixed with the paint we used for years I’ll stick with the brake cleaner :-)
