    In my experience with collecting these lovely old things you have to be patient, very patient sometimes! Some of the more mechanical parts can be re-made if you have the time and skills or know someone who does. Other bits like the hood and burners, especially for rarer lamps just aren't that easy to find and you have little option other than wait. Your best bet is to haunt junk shops, yard sales, ask around, talk to other collectors, keep an eye on local for sale websites and hope!

    I have learned with the other 4 you have to be patient but seems the parts for the 200cp lanterns are harder to come by i love refurbishing these old lanterns they are pretty

    @JustinMcCauley

    Frosted glass gives a more difused light, which could be more comfortable to the eyes on the long(er) run.
    Today this is not such a likely scenario, with cheap and far more practical light available, like LED.
    The disadvantage of frosted glass is one does not have a clear(!) sight on how the running lamp is functioning. Think of a developing hole in the mantle etc. This might explain why certain glass has a combination of clear and frosted sections.

    Here is a piccie of a globe that would fit your lamp, from a 200 CP rated hanging lamp. Mind, it would need internal supports for the ventilator, as can be seen inside it.
    But it illustrates the different segments of a lamp's glass with two different aims.

    Optimus 200cp fishbowl.JPG

    The idea of this segmented globe is to allow full light to shine on work (at a table or similar) while shielding bright light from the eyes of those at that table.
    It is my guess that these fishbowl-shaped glasses made people refer to these as 'globes', even if the overwhelming majority is just cylindrical shaped.

    Collecting today is very much an internet affair and thus is the world your market. It should be not too difficult to find a variety of glass that would fit your 250 CP Optimus. Good luck with this project.

    That one is only for illustration of the clear and frosted glass I have at hand. Practicly not to be found, so that rumours were a new production was looked into. Such is only possible with the internet, but I doubt number of takers will be high enough.
    So do not hold your breath.
    But I did have a 250 CP Optimus with a clear bottom and frosted top in the original logo-ed glass. They must be around still, but expect to pay serious money.

    part no 74/2 and 74/2F should fit your 200 according to this website. Branded Schott but not Optimus. You may be able to get a Petromax 250 globe closer to home I guess.
    Look forward to seeing pictures of yours up and running !

    If you want a half frosted standard glass, “sand-blast” the part you want frosted. Do that with a glass that’s not precious, of course.
