This is probably the biggest existing Optimus lantern, nearly 1m tall. Unfortunately is it electrified. In Uppland Vasby, the city where Optimus was situated and once was the biggest employer, the city architects has descide to make a kind of monument of the products from Optimus. They have let a company (don't know who) produce a number of big imitations of something tahat looks like a big 200. They are used as street lightning. As you can see, the light comes from the bottom of the tank.
Very interesting ,, I wonder would the british do the same at Herndon for the Tilley lamp company???? Regards. Kenny
It's a pretty cool thing to do by the community up there! I would go there and check it out in reality if just not Upplands Väsby was so bloody far away.
Could always change the name for one year. Actually it doesn't sound like such a bad idea. I wonder if the coucil might complain though if some of their street lights go missing.
The street lights are designed by a Landscape Architect named Nils Odén. That's the best I've got so far. No time to translate the article in the screenshot, since I'm at work, but it mentions another model meant to placed on the ground as well.
