It looks good . Is there a year stamping on the fount . I see it's stamped Made in the United States of America .
The one I have is stamped MADE IN USA and was made in February 1936.

A good clean old lantern, very much like the 249 Scout.

Thanks. Guess it needs a new jet. Burns outside the mantle (turning black). Fitted with a 350 mantle now (which I believe is to big for this lantern). Ok for a while, but not all good. I can't find the production number on this one. Any ideas? I figure there is a 10 underneath... 20211017_095705.jpg 20211017_095656.jpg

@Toby Garner These we’re made in USA? I have never seen a 247 made in USA.

Clean lantern by the way and nice double slotted collar

I know of three of these lanterns of which there are two different versions .
One of the others is also here in the reference gallery.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable about the USA lanterns can help with the date.
    I'm sure it's made somewhere in the 1930's .

@Pancholoco1911 I was not aware of them. Must have been a 242K replacement? Appears to be the same vintage as the US nickel 242B's.

Beautiful example @esphojo thanks for sharing
