18 months since I bought my first Tilley lamp and we’ve finally had our first power cut. Yey! Coleman 249 & Optimus 930 in action!
Ohh ....waiting for power cut for years and months. No cut exceeding 10 mins. Didn't even start the candle. No time to start any mantle lantern.
Our power was off from late Friday afternoon until Wednesday evening. We had both FS1s lit plus ML98 and an R22 in the shower room for a time. John is attending to the Tilley stove above, no problem making cuppies. Nothing coming over us but I was glad when the power went on. Too late now but I should have done as Darryl does and taken a picture in the shower room. Sorry for the poor pics.
You gotta love those power cuts ....... my significant other reckons that I’m like a little boy with his toys (read lanterns) when we have an outage
No power cuts here - but our boiler pump packed in. Vapalux firebowl and oddly Aladdin 23s provided heat where the log burner was not
I've been waiting for a decent power-cut (not just a 10 minute switch over!) for years now without luck. Glad you have power again but I'm guessing it was enjoyable using lanterns and stoves while you had to! Regards to you both and I'll try to pop over some time in the New Year. Colin
Oh yes Colin, enjoyable for about three days then we got fed up with it. Storm Barra hit very close to us but power stayed on. Hope we’re still allowed to travel next year and mix with other households!
Heaven knows what the new year will bring but here's hoping we'll be allowed to visit you good folks. I guess 3 days is plenty long enough. So which lantern or lamp was th 3D most useful? The only thing we'd miss is the oven and the washing machine.
