Hi fellas I’m working on a AGM3608, The pricker needle is gone, I thought I could unscrew the rod from the oscillator but it appears to be soldered in, and what looks like it goes through the oscillator. Any suggestions not wanting to destroy what I have, I was going to try the heat and quench?
Hi fellas, you learn about lanterns all the time, not that I’ve seen before the oscillator was soldered in, a bit of heat and it more or less fell off, most of the time they have been threaded
Never played with one of these but it would make sense if it was threaded for adjustment. Maybe it was broken or replaced in the past but soldered in after removing the thread ?
@Fireexit1 , I think you’re on to something, it dose look like it’s been re worked, the pricker needle end looks original, I made a new needle to compare
Be careful reinstalling to make sure it is "timed" right, I broke the pricker wire on a new genny. Just run it w/o the wire, hoping it doesn't plug the genny tip. Duane
