It’s New Year’s Eve here in Australia. 2021 was quite a year! I’ve decided to set up ‘an interesting Gloria from 2021’ for New Years Eve — it’s still broad daylight and 3 hours to sunset but I wanted to be prepared. Here it is communing with its comrades in the NYE test light up. And here on its own. A big shoutout and thanks to Ross (@spiritburner) for hosting and managing an excellent website; and to Christer Carlsson for his judicious moderation. 2022 will see me hit a decade as a Member here. Where does all the time go? (Break out your Sandy Denny records). Best wishes to all for 2021. Cheers Tony
Whatever the year that’s a beautiful lamp Tony. Happy New Year all from grey and drizzly N E Scotland.
Happy new year to all members from me in Sweden. We have some 12 hours left until midnight and the new year 2022. Regards Matti
Improve your health and make some Tea from those Pine needles! After washing, chop and infuse with just boiled water, infuse for at least five minutes, add honey for sweetenss and enjoy. Really good for the immune system. Happy New Year. Let's make it a better one than last!
Jean, I assure you, Derek is not joking! Pine needle (even cedar) tea is quite high in vitamin C. Early settlers used it to ward off scurvy.
Thank you Tyler! There is so much people can do to ward off various lurgies that Mother Nature can supply. Take a look at what Dandelion root tea can be used for. One of todays problems is the pharmaceutical industry. Medicines and drugs may well have their place (indeed they do), but at the end of the day one has to say it is an INDUSTRY, and industries big concern is always the bottom line - cui bono, who benefits? For industry it is always the company profit line. Everything else is 'mumbo jumbo' conspiracy theories is it not? Suggest a natural alternative and expect no quarter given.
Well, no cedar in my garden but lots of pine needles and more than a few dandelions. Might just give it a go.
OK Wim, roasted, yummy, that just looks delicious. How much sugar would I need in it? I will try it one fine day.
Or just go for the Dandelion and Burdock soft drink. I like Fentiman's in the UK. Needless to say you can also get Dandelion and Burdock gin here too - I have not tried it but I bet it would make me feel better
