Coleman 244 lantern

I was lucky enough to find this lantern for sale, wasn’t cheap but moved fast because it was in someone eyes already. Lantern it’s unknown for many and others say it’s misprint by the factory but there is some paperwork showing the model 244

lantern it’s in great shape and stamping in tank too with capital “MADE IN USA” letter not very common. also comes with pricker cleaning know as the 242k and 246 came like that too. Also comes with pinned pump and NRV.

Looks good. I see it shows the suggestions are for the USA 247 as well which is also a recent Coleman rediscovery.

A great find. only the second one I know of although I am sure there will be a few more out there. It seems to be near identical to 246. This is from Canada export catalogue 19. ::Neil::

Hi, these are really great finds in the Coleman world.

I have a 1935 246 no letter, I don’t see many differences with this 244. Is there any for what you know?

that’s interesting. I know a guy who has a collar with 244 stamped on it. Came with a modified lantern and he still have the collar that’s the collar he owns
