Hi friends I have this Optimus lamp. If anybody can help me to identify it I will be appreciated. I was wondering if this is the correct glass for this lamp? The tank say Optimus 200P please any information will be appreciated. ///Fernando
This lamp can either be model 209 or 210. The only difference is what type of shade was fitted. The 209 had a parchment shade and the 210 had the standard enamel lantern shade but with a bead fringe. From what I can see in the catalogues, by the time this lamp was produced, there was only the 209 listed. The lamp looks to be original and points to a date in the mid 1950s. The glass is a later replacement but is the correct size. These lamps were made using the standard 200P lantern and adding a handle and associated fittings. Therefore the 200P on the tank.
Hi Nils I appreciate that information. Can you provide me picture of the correct glass. This lamp is in great condition. No dent or any damage I will love to find the correct glass for it. Thank you ///Fernando
Hi Fernando. It is the correct glass but just a later made one. The only real difference is the logo printed on them. There are some 209 and 210 lamps in the lamp reference gallery, some have the earlier made glass. Enjoy your lamp - it is a thing of beauty Chris
