I do not know if this topic has been brought up before, but I just wanted to mention how useful it is and how great it works. It is called "Mr Funnel" http://www.mrfunnel.com/Mr._Funnel/Home.html The best thing about it is that it also filters the water out of your fuel whether it is gasoline or kerosene. I use it on all my lawn and garden equipment that runs on gasoline because at times there is water in the gasoline when you get it from the pump. Also I filter my kerosene before using it thru Mr Funnel. Never have any fuel problems. They come in 3 sizes, I have the medium and a small one. I use the small one when filling the lamps, and use it with a funnel that fits the lamp. Coleman made a filter funnel many years ago, it was #5103-7006 that did the same thing, but you do not see these any more. It was a lot smaller and fit right in the fount. The last time I bought a Mr Funnel, they were $15.00USD. I got mine from a small local airport near here. If you look on their website, they are sold in the UK and Europe also. If you all ready know about this, I apologize for taking up your time!, Don
Hi Don i have viewed the link you provided and watched the video of there's and it looks a brilliant product and if it works as well as the video shows then it is a product well worth buying. I have a Coleman funnel i bought on ebay about six months ago,it is made of red plastic and has a pourous filter in it, not the brass mesh type it looks more like a solid plastic sponge,i realy like it as it realy filters the fuel but i dont think it will filter water. I wonder do the filters have to be changed,i will look on there link if there is a supplier in the UK
Way back in my youth as an Aircraft Engineer Apprentice, all Aviation Gasoline was decanted from jerry cans into the old Tiger Moth trainer aircraft filtered through a chamois leather in the bottom of the funnel. This trapped the water if any was in the fuel. Seemed to work: I expect it just soaked any water up and held it while the gas passed through. Steve.
I have a old alminium coleman funnel with blue felt inside and this filters blobs of water and debris its really good so i dont know about all this new technology if some felt i think can do it pete
I have one of these, bought in the UK, and am unimpressed. At first I thought "wow look at the water it's filtered out", but if you look closely at the design there is a ridge round the filter element meaning there is always some fuel left 'in the sump' watery or not.... If they're confident in the operaton of their filter separating water out why do they need this artificial boost? Surely the ridge could be eliminated and what remained 'in the sump' would truely be water. YMMV Paul
