    I was given a bag of loose mantles with these 3 among them. Does anyone know what type they are? 111 maybe?

    Biro pen included for scale.

    Probably 99 as mentioned. Look a little too big for #21 mantles.

    Thanks guys. When I got the bag of nantkes these were badly wrinkled so I put them in a large book to flatten them and promptly forgot all about them!

    @ColinG

    I’ve got a stash of different sized Coleman mantles.

    If you give me the length (mm) from top of green to bottom of curve, and width across top at the string, I might be able to find the closest match.

    Cheers

    So, they measure:

    2.5" or 70mm wide
    4.0" or 100mm long

    They also have a very loose weave, unlike modern mantles.

    Using your ancient measuring stick, at 4 inches long it has to be a 1111-sized mantle:

    Peerless 111 is around the same size.

    Excellent, thanks. To be honest, they do look old... not a scientific hypothesis I know but they have an air of age about them.
