Some nice carry cases for classic lanterns were recently shown HERE by @NightShadow1991 and others. The Tilley wall lamp requires an elongated box. This is mine; not the most elegant woodwork, but then I'm more at home with metal. A small fuel bottle (not shown) can also fit in the box. The general layout. The box on the left safeguards the replica onion globe by using original packing. Not that heavy a box but handles make it easier to move. A lock is fitted in the lid. The funnel screws into an old coffee jar lid and is transported on the side of the box. A cutdown milk drink container with foam padding holds the meths jar. The gallery sits on top of a metal rod mounted on the bottom of the box. The fount actually hangs like it should off a screw on the wall but just makes contact with rubber padding underneath. The lid has an old tin with a screw top lid to carry bits and pieces and matches. Must have matches. A piece of wood holds the globe box in place and is spaced from the wall to allow mantles to be carried. The steel rod that supports the gallery in transit is visible here and has a flat steel plate holding it in place screwed to the bottom of the box internally. The screw holding the fount stable is carefully placed height-wise. The old milk container that is screwed into place to hold the meths jar. The gallery and meths jar. Thanks @AussiePete , @JEFF JOHNSON , @podbros and @ROBBO55 for the feedback. I am now working on replacing the three lid machine screws with slotted brass ones for consistency. Yes, @podbros , those locks were very popular many years ago and I have had about ten sitting there for years waiting for something to put them on, so one down. I am still not 100% happy with how the mantles are stored / slotted in; maybe a slim tin or narrow envelope; time will tell. Iain
