Hi just a tip for for those who don't know about cold weild. I have fixed leaks where the pump screw sits. hair line cracks on the font of a table lamp ,a vaporizer leak where the steel meets the brass screw ,the pressure gage pipe etc.it is easy just mix the two part resin and rub in and smooth with your finger leave for 24 hours and it's done no need for soldering. Hope this helps.
@col Which product did you use? I have found that one of the most popular and widely used two-part resin products, J-B Weld, will fail on some of the uses you describe. I would caution against using it for external repair to stress cracks on items under pressure where fuel may leak, or other significant external pressure vessel repairs below the fuel line, unless the region has been reinforced somehow. I would not use it with gasoline pressure vessels. Tony
Yes Tony that's the one it has not failed on any of the lamps I've used it on. when I say hair line crack l meant the soldier round the bottom of the font and not stress cracks ,I've had them fully preasured over a period of time and no leaks.
