I have stumbled upon and purchased a “RATNADEEP CANDLE LAMP” its full brass with what appears to be an old glass globe. It has a candle that is under spring tension that pushes the candle up as it burns away. i have tried go Google information on this lamp but nothing pops up apart from the Gumtree add where I brought it. Apparently it was from a very old estate thats all i know. it has some weird stamping on top that I cannot make out. Has anyone see or heard of this lamp ? Cheers Darren
@Kiwiboy00 Espacenet patent search with the patent number shown on the box produces THIS. Not a lot of help because the patent application was evidently made but no documentation registered. However, the applicant was Sunshine Lamp (India) and unless I’m much mistaken the stamped graphic you refer to incorporates a part-risen (or setting) sun with radiant rays of sunshine - possibly an ‘S’ an ‘L’ and an ‘I’ too. The estate you bought it from may well have been old but the lamp’s not, with the patent application having been made in 1974. John

I think as PaulM says a copy of the other ones - I have a "Mason constant flame candle lamp" I suspect the patent application may have failed - possibly explaining the blank entry found by John. C
The mechanism is straight out of candle powered carriage lamps where a spring under the candle keeps it pressed against the top of the tube thereby keeping the wick and flame in the right spot as the candle burns. Neat.
Thank you for all your help and in-depth research about this lamp, it’s very much appreciated. Sorry for the slow response I have been away working with limited reception. I must say it’s definitely an unusual lamp compared to my Tilley and Coleman collection that I have. Not sure that I fully understand where the melted wax runs or pools to when burning. Also not sure why someone would use this compared with Tilley or Coleman lamps that pump multiple times the light output. Nevertheless it’s a lamp and something I never had till now :-) You guys are amazing and fill of amazing knowledge, big thank you guys. Cheers Darren
Ratnadeep is is a registered Indian Brand TM175445 . The top marking is likely LSI which I think is probably Shah Light Indistries in Mumbai. ::Neil::

Yes, this is an Indian product and its not very old or rare; sells here for about 20 USD or so. But its definitely an interesting buy!
