I’ve had this one for a few years Stevie, it’s on cardboard and came from the US. Must have kept it hidden when you were over! Not thinking of selling just yet though. .
I would like to have a TILLEY girl sign. The old naughty one that is. I thought there was a discussion about her long time ago. There are several Petromax/E&G related versions known but not for sale at the moment and not as a reproduction. Although there was once a guy in Asia who sold paper copies of one.
@WimVe Do you mean this one? https://classicpressurelamps.com/threads/tilley-advertising-sign.13128/ Tony
@Tony Press , indeed it is ! Still looking good after all the years. There is the AIDA sign like used here on the forum. I know there was a German collector who had made reproductions of a round Petromax sign. In enamel but without the original embossing. I know they where to expensive to made in bulk. I guess it is simply a trade that, when done correctly like in the old days, is to expensive nowadays. Here is an old Petromax sign by Graetz: (picture from internet)
Thanks folks. I recently moved house and am determined to have a ‘lamp room’ in the house (warm and dry during the long Scottish winters!). Of course some original advertising would be perfect for decorating the room, though I’ll be content with reproduction. It’ll be interesting to see what turns up once I start some serious searching around.
