    I am repairing Optimus 300 (Moderators note: identified as a 1300 later, and title amended accordingly)
    It has two wheels.
    One is a rapid preheater.

    What you have is the first variation of the Optimus 1300. For some reason Optimus didn't stamp the tank with 1300 at first. This happened a bit later with the same configuration of parts.

    Thank you.
    I'm still in the process of repairing it, but I'll do my best.

    So I would think it's from 1940. Nils, do you agree? :-k

    @Assel
    I have never been able to get a precise starting year on these but 1940 would be close. I tend to lean a year earlier, but there is no proof.

    There is no globe that can be substituted.
    So I'm indecisive.
    How strong is this fire?
    Or is it appropriate?
    Will flames crack the globe?

    @Assel & @Nils Stephenson

    Thank you for your guidance.
    This lantern was manufactured around 1940! ?
    Almost 80 years old!

    The glass for these is a standard size for most of the larger Optimus, Petromax and many other brands. If I remember correctly, it is 110 x 115 mm. Replacement glass in this size is readily available (without Optimus logo).

    The flame looks good and a proper borosilicate lantern glass will be fine.
