Hi All here is my new restauration A Guenet & Abbat gasoline heater (I tried it with kerosene, but he didn't like ) I am unable to give you the name of the specific model I have several G&A catalogs but i didn't found this one Near by the n° 156 but a different kind of burner the before photos : very dirty,oxidized, missing a feet and the Femina pump As you can see, the power line first passes above the flame diffuser in order to be preheated, then it returns to the back of the parable, to go through the nozzle. AS all G&A devices, this radiator is equipped with the needle cleaning system, patented around 1922 (FR529059A) The Femina pump (I did not find the patent) is integrated into the tank and equipped with a non return valve but the engineers added a tube which extends this valve and leads to the top of the tank. Thus, if the valve flees, petrol cannot go up and flee out of the tank.
As always with G&A, the radiator can be oriented. And now, a good preheating with a "taupette" dipped in alcohol, a few pump strokes and it's lit No leakage, no smell
I like this radiator very much, particularly the burner design. Is the word “taupette” commonly used for the lighting torch you used? My translator says taupette means either the mammal “mole” or the insect “mole cricket”… Best regards Tony @Michel
@Tony Press Yes "taupette" is the french word for the lighting asbestos fork No relation to the mole that makes galleries in your garden I don't know what is the origin of this word Lots of heaters, lamps or French stoves were not equipped with an alcohol cup in the 1920s It's a usual way to start these devices

@Carpedien1982 Just Bought A Veritas lamp on Ebay (Well, I think it's a Veritas) I haven't received it yet The Veritas have such a tube in the tank?
@Michel i received a Veritas P350, the tank was damaged and no air could be pushed through the pump so i tried to dismantle in pieces. I didn't managed to remove the pump or fuel part or anything else. Then i saw a thinner tube attached to pump housing, there where NRV is and going upp near to the fuel line goes out the tank. I think I'm going to cut out the bottom just to see hoe they are attached to the tank ( the bottom is of iron and has rust spots) Sorry for the long response, short answer, yes Cheers, Francisc
Nice work on that G&A Succes heater, Michel! Odd burner on that one! The Succes brand is known to have lamps and heaters with numerous burner parts. So probably no big problem to combine some of these parts to make a new burner . /Conny
@Conny C This burner is very special, none of the others parts I know of on my others heaters will fit Yes G&A are known to have numerous burner parts I think those devices had to be expensive to produce ...and buy
